During my busy schedule, I’ve missed a few daily posts, but I’m still writing. As I prepare to teach, the outline of the book is gradually coming together. It’s a slow process. E.B. White, the author of Charlette’s Web and co-author of The Elements of Style, once said, “Writing is an act of faith, not a trick of grammar.” For White, writing was far more than placing words on a page by a set of rules, it was almost a spiritual exercise in connecting ideas and truth.
Over the last few days, although my public posting waned, I have come to appreciate White’s sentiments. Writing is difficult. However, it is one of the most rewarding practices. It brings clarity out of chaos of research and ideas when I put pencil to paper (or at the moment my fingers to the keyboard). Through this process, I’ve developed a better understanding of the New Testament, and I can’t wait to share it with you!
