Genesis 6

“But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.” (Genesis 6:8)

Devotional Insight: The story of Noah’s call to build an ark reveals God’s faithfulness to fallen humanity. The difference between Noah and those around him was that he had the testimony of “walking with God” (Gen. 6:9). As we see throughout Scripture, “walking with God” is a metaphor for living by faith, which leads to right standing with God (Gen. 15:6; Hab. 2:4; Rom. 1:17). Are you listening to His call and walking by faith today?

Matthew 6

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

Devotional Insight: Jesus invites us to pursue a relationship with God grounded in honesty and faith. Our focus should be on God’s kingdom, whether we’re praying, giving, or struggling with worry. He sees our hearts and will take care of us. Are you placing your trust in God?

Ezra 6

“Then King Darius issued a decree, and search was made in the archives, where the treasures where stored in Babylon.” (Ezra 6:1)

Devotional Insight: Despite the opposition they faced from the inhabitants of the land, God gave Israel favor with Darius, who declared the temple restoration to continue. The completion of the temple and the celebration of Passover show the joy and restoration God brings when His people are obedient and faithful. Like the returning exiles, we too can rejoice in God’s faithfulness to restore of our lives for His glory. Are you experiencing this joy in the Lord despite opposition?

Acts 6

“Therefore, brethren, select from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this task. But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word.” (Acts 6:3-4)

Devotional Insight: The appointment of Spirit-filled servants beautifully showed the church’s ministry working together. As people answer their callings, God’s word spreads, impacting lives for the better. Are you embracing your God-given roles to support the mission of the church?
