Have you ever wanted to study the Bible, but didn’t know how to get started? This was the question I attempted to answer in a 3 hour session (including breaks) with the ladies at Still Waters Outreach Center. One of the methods I think is good is to start with basic commentaries that tell you the basics of each book, the situation happening, and such.
Then go into books that detail themes and developments on certain theological subjects.
Then go into the advanced commentaries like wbc and such that do a great job of really drawing out the content in a very professional manner :)
Thanks for the comment! I agree this is a good approach too. Generally, I refer to commentaries (in a very similar manner) in the back half of my study process following a thorough reading of the book/pericope. Again, thanks for the comment! :)
